Adding a traffic source on BeMob

Traffic sources are capable to supply with the required amount and quality of traffic for launching a campaign.

In this user guide we are describing how to create and set up your traffic source with BeMob for its easy appliance to the future campaign.

In BeMob there are two ways of adding a traffic source: manual traffic source settings and selecting source from preconfigured templates.

Adding source from templates

To access our list of trusted traffic sources:

  1. Click Traffic sources tab on panel
  2. Press New from templates
  3. Use search bar to find the required source faster
  4. Select source – settings will be filled automatically
  5. Press Save button to apply this source for future campaigns

Note: Many traffic sources support conversion tracking via S2S postback to optimize your campaigns and enrich reports of advertiser.

If it is possible to use postback URL, make sure you replace all the required parameters as specified on the side of this source.

Setting traffic source manually

If you don’t see the required traffic source in our templates list, then you will have to set it up manually.

For new traffic source:

  1. Click Traffic sources tab on panel
  2. Press New button


Traffic source settings consist of 2 sections: traffic source details and parameters.

Traffic source details

  • Traffic source name

The name is an obligatory setting. This can be any custom or actual name of traffic source.


  • Tags

This optional feature is required to customize traffic source template.

  • Postback URL

Note: If you do not have to collect traffic data or send conversions to your traffic source, skip postback configurations and move on to campaign settings.

The postback is sent to the traffic source, when conversion is successfully registered within a corresponding campaign.

The most commonly passed data with a postback call is the data on click ID.

Click ID allows to identify and track a unique conversion event per user. To pass the data on click ID from tracker to the traffic source you should add {externalId} to the end of postback URL.



  • Available tokens

Available tokens list is required to pass additional data on conversion to your traffic source. Before you add tokens to the end of postback URL make sure that your traffic source is able to accept the data passed within these tokens.



  • Track impressions

Mark the option, if you want to track impressions using your traffic source. BeMob can generate an impression pixel for traffic sources that use pixel to track conversions.

Impression pixel will be available in the campaign links for each campaign with this traffic source template.

Note: It is required to add both impression pixel and campaign URL into the panel of your traffic source.

With this option it is possible to use CPM model in campaign settings. However if your traffic source uses special token to pass the cost of traffic, you can select Auto model.


  • Set traffic loss percent

A certain percentage of traffic can be lost on its way to the tracker. As usual it depends on traffic geo. If the value is more than zero, then total traffic cost is calculated by formulae :

(100% + traffic loss %) * traffic cost for the certain campaign


Traffic source parameters

Note: Each traffic source uses its own tokens to pass the data. We recommend to see traffic source documentation before you fill in the template.

  • Query param

Introduce the parameter name related to a corresponding token from traffic source.



  • Token

In this field enter the token received from your traffic source to pass the data variables.



  • Name

This field is required for introducing custom names. The name will be displayed in your report in Custom section.

On the top of the list before custom parameters you can see fields for external ID and cost data.


  • External ID

This parameter is used to pass the data on unique ID of click from the traffic source. It is very important to set external ID query parameter along with token correctly, when click ID should be passed back to your traffic source in order to track conversions.

Cost parameter is required to pass the data on traffic cost.
With this token you can select Auto model in the campaign settings.

Custom parameters

There are 10 custom parameters that can be appended to the campaign URL to pass the data from traffic source to the tracker.

Note: Check this parameters with your traffic source manager before adding them in template and make sure you introduce them correctly. These parameters and tokens are case insensitive.



Don’t forget to hit Save button. After settings of traffic source are saved, the template will be available for further configurations.

    How much i have to put in the % of traffic loss ? i think here you mean by the traffic loss the amount of traffic that did not reach my landing page , so how i can set a number in this % loss if i can not predict of this volume lost ?

    • Hello,
      You don’t need to predict traffic loss – it can be done through testing and analyzing only. To estimate the traffic loss you create and launch campaign, analyze how much traffic you bought and what amount didn’t get to the tracker.

      Mostly loss depends on geo and ‘traffic shave’, when traffic source steals traffic from you by sending less traffic to your campaigns.

      Basing on this data you can estimate % of traffic loss. It will be counted for future campaigns you create with this traffic source.
