Even if the source is commonly known as trusted, there is always a chance to receive bot traffic.<\/p>\n<p>So what should we do in this case, when there is no way to dispose of this traffic ?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>First of all, it is always important to know what percentage of your traffic contains bots.<\/p>\n<p>Bot traffic can not be monetized and moreover, bots have a malicious effect on the performance of your campaign. With BeMob you have special tool to deal with this sort of traffic.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bot filters\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>Bot filters<\/strong> tab is located in settings on the panel. With this option set it is possible to separate incoming traffic with unusual behaviour to prevent your reports from being\u00a0contaminated with bots.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-3.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-0\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3079\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-3.gif\" alt=\"Bot filters \" width=\"1297\" height=\"629\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/span> The main difference between bot filters and regular redirect rules stays in fact that bot filters are aimed to filter out traffic and remove bot data from statistics.<\/p>\n<p>In the same time traffic that goes through regular flow rules is our targeted traffic and shows actual campaign data<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>Bot detection rules<\/h2>\n<p>Bot detection rules are aimed to define bot traffic in your campaigns for further traffic management.<\/p>\n<p>To create a bot detection rule:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>press <strong>Add detection rule<\/strong> button<\/li>\n<li>set custom name for bot rule<\/li>\n<li>click <strong>Add condition<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>select the condition for bot detection<\/li>\n<li>choose logical relation<\/li>\n<li>save settings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-9.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-1\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3094\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-9.gif\" alt=\"bot detection rule \" width=\"1297\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BeMob offers three filters to manage bots in your campaign.<\/p>\n<h2>Mark bot<\/h2>\n<p>This option allows to mark user with unusual activity as a bot and redirect to clean offer or landing page in flow rules.<\/p>\n<p>To perform this action it is required to select corresponding filter type and add a bot detection rule.<\/p>\n<p>On the example above we selected <strong>IP<\/strong> as condition for bot filter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-4.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-2\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3081\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-4.gif\" alt=\"Bot rules \" width=\"1297\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After you save the bot filter settings, it is required to specify the destination of the traffic received from this IP address (or other condition).<\/p>\n<p>This should be done in <strong>Flows<\/strong> settings:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click<strong> Flows<\/strong> tab<\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>New<\/strong> to create new rule or <strong>Edit<\/strong> to add new rule in existing flow.<\/li>\n<li>Click <strong>Add condition<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0<strong>Bot filters marks<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Switch on<strong> Marked as bot<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Press <strong>Save<\/strong> and add landing page (if required) and offer to redirect traffic to required offer and landing pages<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-5.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-3\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3082\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-5.gif\" alt=\"bot filters \" width=\"1297\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All the data on bot clicks and visits will be recorded in statistics.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-6.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-4\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3084\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-6.gif\" alt=\"bot traffic\" width=\"1297\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Redirect bot<\/h2>\n<p>If it is required to redirect bot traffic to certain URL, it can be done with selecting <strong>Redirect bot<\/strong>\u00a0option. With this option selected you should introduce the URL for bot traffic to be forwarded to.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/span> Bot data will be\u00a0excluded from the statistics with this option active.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-10.gif\" data-rel=\"lightbox-image-5\" data-rl_title=\"\" data-rl_caption=\"\" title=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3095\" src=\"http:\/\/blog.bemob.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/14-10.gif\" alt=\"redirect bot \" width=\"1297\" height=\"561\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Close connection<\/h2>\n<p>Close connection is the simplest bot filter. When bot user is trying to access the Campaign or Click URL, connection will be closed.
